Christening Photography in West Hampstead
It was such a privilege to photograph this wonderful christening a few weeks ago, at the Roman Catholic Church of our Lady in West Hampstead. Mum and Dad wanted me to capture images of the ceremony, provide a few group shots at the alter, and then document family and friends relaxing at a local restaurant afterwards.
The priest made everything easy, beautifully combining the solemnity of the occasion with humour and a relaxed, personal touch. The baby was just gorgeous the whole way through and seemed to enjoy herself despite getting a bit wet! The best bits were being made a fuss of by parents, godparents, grandparents, brother and cousins, getting to play with balloons, and then treated to her own little slice of pizza 😊
I love photographing family events, and christenings are such a special way to bring everyone together. These pictures capture a landmark moment in baby’s life and reflect the love and support that surround her. The family loved them, and I’m pleased they’ll have this important record to look back on for generations to come. Here are some of my favourite shots from the day.
